๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ Now that IB exams have ended, many users make the mistake of uploading their exemplar coursework to Clastify to get a few bucks. Here is a detailed explanation as of WHY YOU SHOULD NOT DO THAT. ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ

Clastify gives 7 dollars per paper but charges 10 for a one-month membership. So that's 3 dollars gained per paper. They have around 5k docs, so you do your own calculations.

Their page is slow as fuck, guess why? because it is loaded with a shitton of JavaScript analytics (you can have a look at the chrome console). Even when scrolling down in a document, you are getting tracked. This adds even more revenue, although we can't know how much.

Most of the older exemplars aren't reviewed at all, they just have a grade that was probably given by the students themselves. In the newer exemplars, they do add some nice corrections, but this comes with a limitation: you can't download any of that.

So, the damn premium license grants access to view all exemplars (but let's be honest, who views more than 50?), download ONLY 18 pdfs, and of course without corrections of any kind, just the plain document, and watermarked. You can't even select text on them. And of course, they frown upon sharing accounts or downloaded documents.

So what are students doing when, year after year, they submit their exemplars to Clastify? Increase their database more and more, make them get money for exemplars that they don't even review, make people pay for an exemplar that others might have viewed already, and set themselves as the only reliable IA exemplars repository out there.

Fixed SME Archive previously not working on Safari. It can now be opened on Apple devices without any issue.
For the techies, this happened because the JavaScript method "requestIdleCallback" is not available in Safari, causing the page loading to fail.

We have a couple bugs to fix and then we'll release an initial downloadable version.

โš  Note 1: Pushing changes to the online version is almost instant, but every time you want to get an updated offline version, you will have to redownload (unless you are handy with tech, then you can email us and we might set up a FTP that you can sync changes from).

โš  Note 2: Due to the way in which the page works, it WON'T work with a simple "open index.html". It will require to run a local server (don't worry, we'll make this very easy), meaning that it won't work on Android/iOS, only computers.

โณ Offline version release will be delayed, because we found some major bugs in the PDF download page of the Topic Questions, for nearly all subjects. We don't want to release a faulty page. Rest assured, the files are safe.

๐Ÿ“‚ We are finishing the archival of the remaining Revision Note PDFs (BM, Econ, Geo, ESS, Psych), which should be ready later today. โœ… Done

๐Ÿ’ฅ Once that is done, we will make a SME Notes page listing all subjects and topics, that will make it very easy to download the PDFs. But for now, they will NOT be provided in a folder inside the repo like last time, because the PDF names are scrambled and we currently have no time for sorting them.

Ok, since many users reported they couldn't download it, we'll try to hurry up on fixing SME Topic Questions (halfway done) and classifying 2023-24 past papers by subject, in order to release the most updated version possible.
We'll use hidan.sh which is DMCA ignored and unlimited.

- The good: we're now focused on fixing the SME Archive topic questions, and it will be done soon. (We finished book scraping which was our priority recently)
- The bad: Biology, Chemistry and Physics (HL & SL, 2024 & 2025) questions are fully copied, but for the rest of subjects, we barely have any (under 10 in total ๐Ÿ˜ข).
At least we know what to target for next time ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Several people have contacted us already wanting to give monetary donations as a reward for our work. In all big piracy projects that died, money was involved in some way or another (Yuzu, Pirate Bay, etc.), so we decided not to accept any, to avoid legal and moral issues. In addition, converting cryptocurrency to pay for IB resources is difficult and risky.

If you want to donate, the best way is to check if you have an IB resource that we don't and that can be useful to us:
- class notes,
- an account for some revision platform that we can copy,
- some textbook PDF that we lack,
- your IA/EE/TOK/HL Essay once you graduated...
There are a lot of things that can help us.

๐Ÿ•‘ For appeasing the questionbank-hungry M25ers, we're happy to announce that the initial phases of question processing is going pretty well (mainly thanks to our existing codebase), and we will likely have the version 6 questionbanks on Pestle by the end of next week (not confirmed). This includes grouping question parts in a single big question (fuck IB for giving us extra work).

The combined one will take a few more days still since it needs a shitton of post processing and debugging.

Details to take into account:
- Questions are split by parts just like on the website. If you want to quickly jump to questions, simply select all topics and Control + F to search the question number you want. For example, for Chemistry, searching "19M.2.SL.TZ2.5" will show you 9 hits, which correspond to parts A to D and their sub-parts.

- Chemistry has a topic called "empty-topic". This is because of a bug during the scraping of the questionbank, some pages didn't include the Syllabus section. Since we can't manually review 200+ questions, we added it as an empty one so you guys don't miss those questions.
Btw if you appreciate our effort, please consider donating your IA/EE to us after graduation for uploading them to Marxify ๐Ÿ˜„

โ„น๏ธ Note about Pestle questionbank: IB really messed it up this time. They removed tons of questions from the old syllabus, and for the few ones they didn't, most of them are missing the first part of the question, making it almost useless.

Once we finish merging the new questions by part, we will NOT release them as-is. Instead, we will convert topics and subtopics from old syllabus to new, and simply include the Nov 22 and May 23 questions which is the only thing that QBv6 has and v5 doesn't.

TLDR: IB v5 questionbank is a piece of shit, we'll adapt our previous one instead. Allow us one more week! ๐Ÿ™

We're seeing some people reporting some shit like this appearing when they try to download files from Buzzheavier.
This isn't the real file, it's actually malware (Buzzheavier uses malicious ads to keep it free). PLEASE download uBlock Origin (choose Lite if you're on Chrome) and you won't face this issue anymore. And please have some common sense: the download must have the same name as the file you're trying to download...

Hey @everyone! Weโ€™re looking for volunteers to join the pirateIB team! Hereโ€™s what you need to know:
  • ๐Ÿ˜ฉ This job is tiring and requires a lot of your time (many hours).
  • ๐Ÿค Itโ€™s purely volunteer work: no pay or recognition and you can't add it as CV experience.
  • โš ๏ธ You assume & understand the risks involved. We operate entirely outside legal boundaries.
  • ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป Must know coding (Python, NodeJS, web dev), scraping, browser automation, basic reverse engineering. This does NOT mean asking ChatGPT how to do things.
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Familiarity with sysadmin, Linux, Cloudflare, Docker, proxies, and Tor is greatly valued (although not required).
  • ๐Ÿช™ Basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and disposable emails/phones is essential if you get more involved with the project.
  • โœ… You must own a physical copy of the repo and agree to host a mirror (no costs involved) if the main one goes down.
If you do not meet all requirements, do not worry. You might sill be eligible for smaller tasks.
Some examples of what you'll do:

Hey, dropping an update @here since quite a few people emailed us about it. โŒ Videos (Lewwinski, Teachme, PaperPlainz, etc) are not meant to be played online from the repo, they will be very laggy and probably freeze at some point. The reason behind this is that HTTP servers aren't meant for video streaming, there is HLS and M3U lists for that. But not pirateIB repo ๐Ÿ˜… So please, if you need to watch some videos from the repo, please download them instead. You will have a much better experience ๐Ÿ™ƒ Thanks! pirateIB
